Owen is one of Utah's premiere artists.
Owen began his life playing in the red sands of Farmington, New Mexico and spent part of his formative years growing up in Salt Lake County. He spent many weekends and summers learning the magic of hard work with his family on a spacious and isolated 1400 acre farm full of scenic landscapes, petroglyphs and dinosaur bones in Duchesne and Uintah Counties. Art and music were always a part of growing up in a family of talented parents and siblings. Owen learned to enjoy and participate in music, art and the sciences at a young age. He enjoyed two years eating pizza and proselyting in beautiful Southern Italy for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He attended the University of Utah and graduated from Brigham Young University. While working on his degree in Mechanical Engineering, he carved out time to take music and art classes. Owen worked his way through college as a: commercial artist doing pen and ink illustrations for newspaper advertising, architectural and engineering drafting, and commissioned pencil portraits. His creativity is evident in his art and as an engineer/innovator, having received 33 U.S. patents. He is most proud of his wife and four children, their spouses and three granddaughters.
